Cancellation by the University
In the event that the conference has to be cancelled or rearranged, the University will make every effort to contact the ticket holders to let them know. The University will also make every effort to publish information on its web pages and other suitable channels.
Ticket holders are responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements and other costs, and should ensure that such arrangements include appropriate cancellation and amendment rights, or that they have obtained appropriate insurance to cover such cancellation, amendments or losses.
The University reserves the right to cancel or rearrange the conference and any part of its programme for reasons beyond its control, including but not limited to by reason of war, fire, flood, storm, explosion, act of God, death of a monarch, national holiday, period of national mourning, failure or shortage of power supplies, bad weather, national emergency, labour dispute, strike, civil disturbance, acts or threats of terrorism, non-performance by suppliers or subcontractors, serious illness or pandemic, national or locally-based lockdown or any other cause or event not within the control of the University.
In the event that the conference cannot be rearranged and is cancelled, or the ticket holder cannot attend the rearranged date, the University’s liability shall be limited to the direct and foreseeable loss of the cost of the tickets paid by the ticket holder, which will be refunded in full. In particular, the University will not be liable for any other costs, including for any travel or accommodation cancellation or amendment costs.
